Ferrero

The Ukraine Hotel, Chernihiv

This was the largest hotel in the city and a true landmark, built in 1961. It had 90 rooms and offered stunning views of the central park.

On the night of March 12, 2022, Russian forces destroyed the building with an Iskander missile. Russian propaganda claimed that foreign mercenaries had been neutralized in the hotel, but fortunately, there wasn’t even hotel staff present.

As a result of the shelling, the roof and walls of the hotel collapsed, and all windows were shattered. According to architects, the building cannot be restored, and dismantling began in 2023.

Ferrero has paid $54 million in taxes to the Russian budget since the beginning of the war.
