The Saphire Hotel, Kramatorsk

For many Kramatorsk residents, the Sapfir Hotel was a memorable place. Before the war, weddin мgs were celebrated there almost every weekend. After the full-scale invasion, foreign and Ukrainian journalists stayed here and reported to the world about the Russian-Ukrainian war.

On August 24, 2024, Russian forces struck the hotel with an Iskander-M missile while journalists from the Reuters news agency were staying there. One journalist was found dead in the rubble, and two were hospitalized. The building now lies in ruins with no prospects for recovery.

LC Waikiki has paid $4 million in taxes to the Russian budget since the beginning of the war.
